Meet Ken
I am a 25-year Shakopee resident. Happily married to Janelle - for 36 years, with 4 children all of whom graduated from Shakopee High School, and 8 grandchildren (and counting).
I have been involved in the community as a volunteer at my church, in various youth sports as a coach and volunteer, on the transit commission, and ran for School Board in 2015 as the “not sure about the direction of the current administration” candidate
I have worked in the printing industry for most of the past 30 years as an individual contributor, a leader, and as an owner.
Why I’m Running
In the small town where I grew up my Father served as both town chairman and on the county board and that instilled in me a feeling of responsibility to serve in my community. I have lived in Shakopee for 25 years and have grown to appreciate the unique position Shakopee has of being a 150 year old river town with its own history, while at the same time a booming suburb of a major metropolitan area.
I am running for City Council because I believe that by helping to manage existing services and plan for future growth smartly and efficiently I can be a part of making Shakopee a better place for its current and future residents.
